A few days away in Norfolk staying at Kelling Heath with my wife. After the sordid six months or so that we have all endured an actual trip away from home was a much-needed tonic. Yes, the weather was not great, yes social distancing rules and regulations were a continuing pain and, yes the North Norfolk Railway was only operating a very limited service but none of this really mattered in the big picture of things! The change of scenery and some quality time with her ladyship was fantastic!

1. Late afternoon walk to Weybourne-10.10.20
After arriving at Kelling Heath I took a late afternoon walk down to Weybourne station. Armed with just my iPhone I took a few photographs in the superb late afternoon light. Unfortunately, I was to discover that the station was closed not just on this afternoon but for the whole week as part of the North Norfolk Railway's COVID secure operations.

2. Trip to Blickling Hall-11.10.20
I only managed one photograph today before my wife and I headed away from the coast to Blickling Hall. Nonetheless, the lighting and subject matter made the long walk from our accommodation worthwhile - well, I think so anyway!

3. Trip to Cromer-12.10.20
Before my wife and I headed to Cromer for the day I popped out to see the first train of the day. As it was another rather grey day I chose a position on the north side of Kelling bank avoiding being on the wrong side for a non-existent sun!

4. Trip to Norwich-13.10.20
Our customary trip to Norwich on the train from Sheringham (Network Rail) station was enjoyed, despite the rain, giving my wife and I the chance to sample travel on one of Greater Anglia's 755 bi-mode built by Stadler. I found Norwich completely transformed in terms of the trains observed.

5. Trip to Felbrigg Hall-14.10.20
Before my wife and I headed off for a trip to the National Trust's superb Felbrigg Hall I nipped out to see the North Norfolk Railway's first working of the day.

7. Journey home-16.10.20
With us all packed and ready to leave for home I nipped down to the railway for one last time to capture the North Norfolk Railway's first working of the day. Hp[efully, when we return again in better times there will be more trains running with no stringent restrictions and that the weather will be kinder!
