A bit of a waste of time in one way but a steam charter stopping at Northampton in two directions made things a little better!

Provisionally we had purchased a new car from Quicks in Stoke-on-Trent without viewing it going on their 'description' of the vehicle. So, my wife and I set off with my trade plates to collect it but on arrival found out that somebody with extremely poor vision had described the Audi! It was in shocking condition so we returned from whence we came thus travelling the expensive way on two single tickets for what was an off-peak return journey. However, we did manage to see the outward leg of The Cheshireman charter roll into Northampton station just prior to our morning outward departure. |

On route to a charity gig in the evening I persuaded my wife that we could pause our journey at Northampton so that I could capture the returning Cheshireman charter. So I presented myself on Northampton station suitably booted and suited taking photographs of trains! |
