A glorious September day coincided with me being off work and so I made two forrays to the nearby WCML. Firstly, before breakfast, I went out early to see the Highland sleeper pass; with the rapidly shortening days, this will probably be the last opportunity to capture it this year. Later in the day, and just before my blood doning session I went out again to see the passage of an interesting trio of classic traction heading north.

A lovely walk across the damp fields in the half-light with that distinctive autumn chill in the air to capture the passage of the up Highland sleeper service. |

Prior to a blood donning session in the local village hall, I was able to capture the passage of an interesting working, the 0Z43 from Alton to Derby Etches Park conveying an interesting collection of locomotives back from the Mid Hants. (Watercress) Line. |
