For the second day on the trot, Locomotive Services Ltd (LSL) was taking a former Greater Anglia's Mark III set, a Class 90 and two DVTs from Norwich to their base at Crewe. After yesterday's poor lighting I made a decisive move to get a better image but it needed a fairly long walk from home. However, it was a grand spring day so the walk across the fields there and back was very pleasant.

390148, VT 11.45 Wolverhampton-London Euston (1B51, RT), Milton crossing
390148 'Flying Scouseman' passes through Northamptonshire on a glorious spring day forming the 11.45 Wolverhampton to London Euston. This location is on the Weedon loop line just north of Roade cutting near the village of Blisworth and is not one that I use very often as most of the 'interesting' and photogenic workings go via the Northampton line!

90001, 82127 & 82118, 08.42 Norwich Crown Point-Crewe HS (5Z90, 68E), Milton Crossing
Looking as though it's had a bit of a spruce up, 90001 'Crown Point' leads the 5Z90 08.42 Norwich Crown Point to Crewe past Milton crossing between Roade and Blisworth in Northamptonshire. This is a repeat run of yesterday's train, see..... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/28963065804/x90002-08-42-norwich-crown-point but the location and lighting today is much improved. As per yesterday, the train is formed of redundant Greater Anglia assets that have been disposed of to Locomotive Services Ltd. They are making their way to Crewe for further use or, in the case of the stock, probably scrapping. Having expressed surprise that yesterday's locomotive retained its nameplates, I am even more surprised that 90001 retains its 'Crown Point' plates. Having been the place that 90001 has spent its last fifteen years or so I thought that staff there would have removed them and apply them to a wall in the depot before LSL took the locomotive?

82118, 82127 & 90001, 08.42 Norwich Crown Point-Crewe HS (5Z90, 68E), Milton Crossing
The rear end of the 08.42 Norwich Crown Point to Crewe holding sidings transfer move heads north past Milton crossing in Northamptonshire. In an exact copy of yesterday's formation, the consist has two DVTs, one at the rear and one third from the end. For the record, the entire consist is, 90001, 11068, 11091, 11075, 11070, 11098, 11087, 82127, 12114 and 82118. Whilst the Class 90 will see further use having been bought by LSL the future of the stock and the DVTs is more uncertain. It is believed that some of the stock will be used for emergency service training.

66175, 07.05 Dollands Moor-DIRFT (6M45, 29E), Roade cutting
On my walk back from photographing the Class 90 led LSL stock move from Norwich to Crewe and as I crossed Roade cutting the 6M45 bottled water train was due. The 07.05 Dollands Moor to Daventry is seen passing through the cutting led by 66175 'Rail Riders Express' that it seems to work, along with the return balancing working, pretty regularly. The Class 66 was named just three weeks ago on 20.03.20 to celebrate the re-launching of the young enthusiasts' club a month earlier after a thirty-year break.
