22. Trip to Liverpool-08-11.04.18

Travelling on Sunday morning to Liverpool from Northampton was bit slow due to some poor connections, late running services and Lime Street being closed with all trains terminating at Liverpool South Parkway and a consequential transfer to Merseyrail services. Here, we were herded about by their staff like we were animals in a pen; not nice.

Whilst my wife and son undertook some 'extensive' shopping in Liverpool I escaped and took a trip to Preston travelling via the Ormskirk route. However, once again, it was spoilt by Merseyrail who I am fast coming to the conclusion are a very poor operator. They seem to have adopted the idea that they are in some way special and that the rules do not apply to them as to other rail operators. Details of my experience are with the photographs.

A thoroughly miserable day when we though it a good idea to go to West Kirby on the train and have a walk. That didn't happen as it was like winter when we got there so we promptly cam back again!

Prior to going home from Liverpool to Northampton, I made a quick dive northeast to St. Helens.
