A Bank Holiday visit to our local heritage line with them operating brake van rides. My wife, son and I rode along the trackbed of the old Northampton to Market Harborough line to the Northampton and Lamport Railway from Spratton on this lovely late summer's day.

 With fare-paying passengers in the brake van resident Ruston & Hornsby shunter 764 'Sir Gyles Isham' propels the train back from Merry Tome Lane to Pitsford station.

31289, stabled, Pitsford sidings 
 Long-term resident Type 3 31289 'Pheonix' is sidelined in the sidings just north of Pitsford and Brampton station. The class 31 is usually in use hauling trains on days such as this through the summer but today brake van rides are being operated between the station and Merry Tome Lane.

 Between brake van trip duties 764 'Sir Gyles Isham' rests at Pitsford and Brampton station whilst the crew take their lunch. The 1953 built Ruston & Hornsby shunter has been a resident on the Northampton and Lamprt Railway for many years and has provided good service in that time.

5. 47395, undergoing maintenance, Pitsford station 
 Still looking smart in its Railfreight Distribution livery 47395 undergoes some maintenance from engineering staff at the Northampton and Lamport Railway. It appears that it is having its grease points attended to judging by the equipment seen on the platform.
