After nine days of unprecedented anticyclonic gloom with not a sign of the sun, it finally put in a little weak appearance! This coincided with the return of the stock from yesterday's Blackpool Can-Can charter so I could not resist a short walk out to see it.

66755, 12.32 Wembley Yard-Hams Hall (4G13, 5E), site of Roade station
Seen yesterday heading south at Wolverton 66755 'Tony Berkeley OBE RFG Chairman 1997-2018' returning north leading the Sunday 4G13 12.32 Wembley Yard to Hams Hall service. The train is seen passing through Roade in decidedly better weather than it was seen yesterday morning, see.... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/30062313619/x66755-06-21-hams-hall-london-gateway

86401, 14.01 London Euston-Carnforth Steamtown (5Z90, 77E), site of Roade station
Having been involved in railtour duties yesterday, the stock is seen returning to WCR's depot at Carnforth. Running as 5Z90 it is nearly an hour early and on the slow line instead of the fast as planned so it's a good job that I didn't go to a spot on the Weedon route as I had originally intended. The 14.01 Euston to Carnforth Steamtown is hauled by 86401 'Mons Meg' that rarely leaves the capital now more usually found hauling empty Caledonian Sleeper stock between Euston and Wembley Yard.

37800, 12.25 Derby RTC-Wembley Yard (0H72, 20L), site of Roade station
Another Rail Operations Group Class 37 light engine passes Roade. Having seen 37884 'Cepheus' heading north yesterday today it's 37800 'Cassiopeia' turn going south today. Catching some welcome afternoon sunshine the 0H72 12.25 Derby RTC to Wembley Yard was working hard before passing Roade with it engine audible some distance away. However, by the time it passed here, the engine had been notched right back.
