The intention was good but things went wrong due to a train delay! I decided to go out and see the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express again but was up against another timed commitment. Unfortunately, with a delay incurred at Milton Keynes, I had to leave the train for another day but it was a dreadful day anyway.

Class 390, VT 06.35 Manchester Piccadilly-London Euston, Blisworth
The 06.35 Manchester to Euston service passes Blisworth near Northampton, the town in the background, worked by an unidentified Pendolino. Unfortunately, I have not been able to make out the number of the Class 390 but it certainly adds a flash of colour to an otherwise very dull and flat county scene.

Class 390, 07.30 London Euston-Glasgow Central, Blisworth
Normally, the outward Cumbrian Mountain Express follows this Virgin service, the 07.30. Euston to Glasgow service, after both trains reach Milton Keynes. However, something went wrong today with the charter held at Milton Keynes Central for an unspecified reason for a long enough time that I had to head off for a prior appointment. Evidently, it did pass this spot at Blisworth near Northampton some fifteen minutes after I left for the car. Notice the camber of the track at this location and the Pendolino doing what it does so well, tilting in order to make best use of that camber.
