Another all too brief trip to London with my wife this time staying west at Hammersmith. The main purpose of our pre-Christmas visit was to see the amazing Dame Judy Dench in conversation with Giles Brandreth (and a few friends) at the Albert Hall; a superb evening out. I also managed a little steam action along the way to round things off nicely.

What should have been a pretty straightforward trip up from Northampton to Euston got off to a cracking start and it was a bit of a fluke really caused by a short-formed and consequentially over-crowded train. |

Two charters at Victoria station got me out of our hotel whilst my wife was preparing for the day. If I had better knowledge of the routes south from Victoria and of the stations that the trains would pass I may well have gone elsewhere; more research is needed! |
