Eleven coach Pendolino 390112 heads south through Roade cutting about to pass under the villages Hyde Road bridge working the 11.55 Manchester to Euston service. This Pendolino is one of the thirty-one members of the class that were lengthened from nine to eleven coaches, a programme that was undertaken ten years ago in 2012; where has that time gone?

37611 'Pegasus' passes through Roade taken from Hyde Road bridge as the 12.04 Derby RTC to Wembley Yard 0H72 light engine move. This is not particularly unusual with a ROG Class 37 often found in Wembley Yard. However, what is unusual is that the move is taking place on a Sunday with them usually taking place during the week.

The purple flowering buddleia (buddleja davidii) brings a welcome blast of colour to this scene above the WCML in the village of Roade. This shrub is an introduced species that is now found throughout the country often frequenting the lineside of the network often found, such is the case here, eeking out an existence rooted within the stonework of a bridge no doubt damaging the structure as it does so. 390046 passes below working the 1F15 13.03 Euston to Liverpool Lime Street.
