With a Class 40 out on the mainline relatively near to home and a nice day forecast, it had to be worth a trip out! So after picking up Andy we headed just east of Peterborough on the former GE route to join a phalanx of other photgraphers all crowded around a lightly used crossing. Amongst those gathered were Damian LeMaistre, Hayden Legge and Darren Weatherall of Mr. Deltic fame. One notable feature of those gathered were a quartet of enthusuast standing in a line with their excessively tall camera poles, it begged the conversation in my mind, 'my pole's bigger than yours!'.
