66426, 13.09 DIRFT-Tilbury (4L48, 2L), Roade cutting
The daily 4L48 13.09 (or thereabouts) Daventry to Tilbury DRS-operated Freightliner makes its way through Roade cutting. When well loaded it is generally hauled by a Class 88 that makes very light work of the train but today with a light load a Class 66 was deemed more appropriate or perhaps it was just 66426 was the only locomotive available?

86259 & 47772, 12.04 Acton-Rugby CS (0X86, 3L), Roade cutting
After a day of railtour duties 86259 'Les Ross/Peter Pan' usually makes its way back to its weekday base in Rugby's rather overgrown carriage sidings. However, today it has company in the form of 47772 that was being towed dead and also ending up at Rugby. The duo, running as 0X86, is seen passing through Roade cutting on a pleasant spring afternoon.
