A regular Sunday jaunt following a Saturday 1Z86 is the passage of the Class 86 running light engine back to its base in Rugby's carriage sidings. Today, its passing time coincided with a movement of two ROG converted coaches from Derby to Willesden.

57312, 10.16 Derby RTC-Wembley Yard (5H72, 8E), Roade cutting
Running a little early and almost catching me out the 5H72 10.16 Derby RTC to Willesden Yard passes through Roade cutting led by 57312. I am not at all sure as to why Rail Operations Group were moving the two converted coaches southwards but as they usually act as barriers during stock movement then perhaps there is something else to be kept an eye out for later this week!

86259, 12.12 London Euston-Rugby Carriage Sidings (0Z68, 39E), Roade cutting
Following another successful railtour duty, yesterday hauling the Cumbrian Coast Express, 86259 'Les Ross/Peter Pan' passes back through Roade cutting as the 0Z68 light engine move from Euston to Rugby. This vintage locomotive remains a regular performer on the WCML as it was throughout its working life. I wonder when it first passed through Roade cutting following its introduction to service on 15.01.66?
