With the North Norfolk Railway having no planned service trains on Fridays, I thought that yesterday's images would be the last of our week stay in Norfolk; however, I was wrong! Whilst I was packing the car I heard railway activity in the form of what I thought was the Class 37 through the trees. With my work almost done and with my wife still packing I nipped out (with her blessing of course!). Evidently, there was a private hire event for the day with a number of trains running being hauled by D6732 and 92203 'Black Prince' giving me the opportunity for a few last gasp photographs!

D6732, special Holt-Sheringham charter, Kelling Heath
D6732 cautiously descends Kelling Bank with a returning special charter. This train was not in public service (as were no trains on this day) much to the chagrin of those I witnessed turning up at Weybourne station expecting for a run on the line. It was running from Holt back to Sheringham that included a lengthy stopover at Weybourne station where the guests were given a tour of the station and the signal box. The village of Weybounre is seen in the distance with the tower of the Grade II * listed All Saints church clearly visible.

It didn't quite fit but it was not a planned photograph anyway! As I was making my way down to WQeybournce station I heard 92203 'Black Prince' blowing its whilst approaching the crossing on Lelling Heath and having nowhere to go I had to take the best photograph that I could. Leading a Holt to Sheringham private train it cautiously descends the bank at almost walking place being up against the Weybourne distant at danger. In this view, it clearly shows the huge gap between the boiler and the frame of this class of locomotive that led to their being known as 'spaceships in part at least! They were the pinnacle of steam locomotive design with many built after many of the first-generation diesels were in service.

Another working that caught me out and that finds itself in the shade! With no working timetable on the North Norfolk Railway, it was tricky being ready and in position for trains to pass. I wanted to be further towards the building and foot crossing in the background for this Holt to Sheringham working but it left with no warning and was on me before I could reach the desired spot! D6732 leads a Holt to Sheringham private charter across Kelling Heath almost the glorious autumn colours of the gorse, bracken and heather.
