We opted to travel from Milton Keynes to Euston rather than our rather more normal Northampton. Parking is safer and more convenient in Milton Keynes and there is a greater choice of trains with many of them faster that suits my wife who does not share my passion for rail travel!

350102, LN 09.13 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (1Y16, 1L), Milton Keynes station London Northwestern's 350102 arrives at a surprisingly busy mid-morning Milton Keynes station working the 09.13 Birmingham New Street to Euston service. We took the 1Y16 train to Euston finding it crowded but not so overtly so as to make it uncomfortable. As usual on London Northwestern services the WiFi was hopeless taking so much time to log on and load that we were approaching Watford by the time it got going! 66055, 06.53 Dollands Moor-DIRFT (6M45, RT), Wembley Yard 66055 'Alain Thauvette' stands in Wembley Yard at the head of the daily 6M45 Dollands Moor to Daventry bottled water train. It has a lengthy layover in the yard of anything up to four hours before heading north down the WCML the relatively short distance to DIRFT compared to where it originated in Europe. 390119, VT 12.20 London Euston-Manchester Piccadilly (1H24, 2L), London Euston station This Pendolino in its striking livery has illuded my camera's lens many times with just two images of it recorded since the repaint was undertaken during the COVID summer of 2020. On arrival at Euston 390119 'Progress' was on the adjacent platform to our incoming service waiting to work the 1H24 12.20 to Manchester. I like the unique Avanti West Coast Pride livery applied to this otherwise anonymous Pendolino.
