Another glorious autumn morning with some mist and fog hanging about as the sun was rising got me out again with my camera over my shoulder to capture the up Sleeper.

390151, VT 05.45 Wolverhampton-London Euston (1R04, 3E), Roade Hill
390151 'Unknown Soldier' speeds southwards between the Northamptonshire villages of Roade and Ashton working the 05.45 Wolverhampton to Euston Avanti service. As can be seen, the sun has just raised its head above the horizon enough to illuminate the majority of the train.

92020, 20.45 Inverness & 19.50 Fort William-London Euston (1M16, 6E), Ashton Road bridge
Unlike yesterday morning, see.... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/30018645553/x92010-20-45-inverness-19-50-fort where the train was in shadow today I picked my location with more thought in order to get the up Highland sleeper in the sun! Today also it was being led by 92020 wearing its brighter GBRf livery with the whole thing looking superb in the subtle early morning light. The 1M16 19.590 Fort William/20.45 Inverness to Euston arrived on time (six minutes early in fact!) for the second day on the trot following a run of very disappointing performances.
