Being off work for a week or so and unable to go far from home enabled me to get out across the fields to capture some of the more interesting daily moves on the WCML. Today an 0E52 light engine originating from Leicester caught my eye that indeed did turn out to be a ROG operated Class 37. Just behind it was a track machine and a little later some freight including one hauled by a 'cop' Class 66!

37608, 08.42 Derby RTC-Orient Way CS, terminated at Bletchley (0Z88, 8E), between Roade & Ashton
37608 'Andromeda' ambles through the sunny Northamptonshire countryside between Roade and Ashton as the 08.42 Derby RTC to Orient Way light engine move. Unfortunately, for any enthusiasts out on the glorious early autumn day much further south they were to be denied a photograph as the move was terminated at Bletchley where it stayed for a few hours before returning north later in the day. It was destined to go to the new Orient Way depot adjacent to Spitalfields Market in east London but obviously, the situation changed hence its hefty layover some ten miles south of this location.

DR73947, 10.00 Rugby Depot Access Line-Neasden South Sidings (8E), Ashton Road bridge
Unfortunately, just missing out on the sun on its flanks, Colas operated Plasser & Theurer 08-4x4/4S-RT Switch & Crossing Tamper number DR73947 passes on the up slow line just south of Roade in Northamptonshire. It was running as the 10.00 Rugby Depot Access Line to Neasden South Sidings that I could not ascertain the headcode for!

90047 & 90010, 11.13 Felixstowe North-Trafford Park (4M87, RT), Victoria bridge
In absolutely glorious early autumn afternoon lighting Freightliner's 90047 and 90010 pass Victoria bridge just south of Roade. The two Class 90s leading the 4M87 11.13 Felixstowe to Trafford Park service wear their recently applied and very smart Genesee and Wyoming paint scheme that is certainly an improvement of their rather drab and long in the tooth Freightliner green! I have photographed 90010 a number of times in various liveries during its time working on the GEML for Greater Anglia, for example, at Norwich back in 2014 when it was named 'Bressingham Steam & Gardens', see.... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/29952522604/bressingham-steam-gardens

325003, 325012 & 325009, 16.21 Willesden PRDC-Shieldmuir (1S96, RT), Victoria bridge
Dating from 1995/196 the ABB (Derby) built units have been in continuous service ever since still operating a number of daily trains up and down the WCML by DB Cargo. 325003, 325012 and 325009 operate the 1S96 16.21 Willesden to Sheildmuir Royal Mail train this time routed on the down slow that will take the train through Northampton. On another day it may be routed on the fast line depending on its timings and what other traffic is doing in the area.

66747, 13.54 Birch Coppice-London Gateway (4L68, 1E), Victoria bridge
A photographic cop in the lovely late afternoon sun at Victoria bridge just south of Roade (Northamptonshire). 66747 'Made in Sheffield' arrived in the UK following its use on the continent wearing its plain grey livery back in 2012. It was rapidly repainted into GBRf's paint scheme but I never managed a photograph of it during that time. In the summer of 2019, it was selected to be repainted again this time to promote the growing relationship between GBRf and the logistics company Newell & Wright based in Sheffield with it being named the same a month earlier. It is seen here working the 4L68 13.54 Birch Coppice to London Gateway.
