A shorter than normal Sunday walk coincided with the passage of a single infrastructure working, unlike last weekend's festival!

390114, VT 09.51 London Euston-Wolverhampton (9G04, 5L) & 390128, VT 09.00 Preston-London Euston (1A04, 4L), Roade cutting It is quite common for the Weedon route avoiding Northampton to be closed on Saturday night and into Sunday morning with it reopening around 11.00. The first down train to use the route and the penultimate diverted up train are seen passing through Roade cutting. To the left 390114 'City of Manchester' works the 09.51 Euston to Manchester whilst the eponymous 390114 'City of Preston' works the 09.00 Preston to Euston. 66792 & 66759, 08.30 Willesden No. 7-Bescot (6G54, 2E), Roade cutting The 08.30 Willesden to Bescot engineering train passes through Road cutting lad by GBRf's 66792 with 66759 'Chippy' at the rear. The train is composed of five wagons four of which are JJA autoballasters. The leading locomotive was delivered to UK shores (arriving at Hull in July 2019) following use on Swedish railway numbered T66404. Along with the trailing locomotive, both of these GBRf Class 66s were photographic cops making my Sunday walk worthwhile even if I was labouring with a very painful knee; oh. the joys of getting older! 66759 & 66792, 08.30 Willesden No. 7-Bescot (6G54, 2E), Roade cutting A pretty anonymous infrastructure train passes through Roade cutting. However, I was particularly pleased to see both of the GBRf locomotives at either end of it as they were both photographic cops! The 08.30 Willesden to Bescot 6G54 was being led by former Sweedish resident 66792 with 66759 'Chippy' bringing up the rear. 390157, VT 09.20 Manchester Picadilly-London Euston (1A07, 5L), Roade cutting Last in the class 390157 'Chad Varah' passes through Roade cutting on the up slow line following its diversion through Northampton. The 1A07 09.20 Manchester to Euston was the last southbound diverted train before things reverted to normal following the closure of the Weedon route over the previous night.
