Class 390, VT 09.05 Wolverhampton-London Euston (1B04), Milton crossing In glorious winter sunshine, an unidentified Class 390 Pendolino passes Milton Crossing working the 09.05 Wolverhampton to Euston service. This was a Sunday morning that had dawned cold and very frosty the remnants of which can be seen on the cable box covers next to the signal. Class 390, VT 08.38 Liverpool Lime Street-London Euston (1A05), Milton crossing I find it amazing that the driver of this Class 390 can actually see out of the windscreen with the blind virtually drawn down to its lowest extent! The Virgin Pendolino is forming the Sunday 08.38 Liverpool Lime Street to Euston 1A05 service and is seen sweeping past Milton Crossing just short of Roade cutting. 47810 & 47853, 09.40 Acton Reception Sidings-Crewe HS, Milton crossing 47810 'Peter Bath MBE 1927-2006' makes a fine sight as it comes around the curve on the exit from Roade cutting at Milton crossing. It is leading a motley collection of stock mostly in the former Virgin livery heading from Acton Reception sidings to Crewe where they will become part of the railtour strategic stock after being refurbished. 47853 & 47810, 09.40 Acton Reception Sidings-Crewe HS, Milton crossing Dead in tow on the rear of the 09.40 Acton reception sidings to Crewe ESC move is 47853 'Rail Express'. Whilst most of the stock is in Virgin's colours but minus branding there is one Mk. II open first in the short-lived FM Rail Pullman livery. The train is seen on the down fast at Milton Crossing just north of Roade diverted away from the more normal Northampton route due to engineering works. 350114, LM 09.14 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (2Y01), Milton crossing Desiro 350114 leads a fellow unit past Milton Crossing between Blisworth and Roade. The London Midland 09.14 Birmingham New Street to Euston service would not normally take this route via Weedon instead going through Northampton. However, the latter line was closed due to engineering works hence this service being somewhat off-route.
