A quick nip out from home to capture a light engine move that I rightly assumed would be a Class 37 on the down fast as a possession was in place on the slow lines. The weather was dreadfully dull so I only bothered to take two photographs.

390103, VT 12.17 London Euston-Manchester Piccadilly (1H08, 1E), site of Roade station
390103 passes Roade in full-gloom working the 12.17 Euston to Manchester Avanti West Coast service. Close examination of the photograph reveals a mass of hi-viz in the background with a possession of the slow lines in place. This was to facilitate the contractors reconstructing the embankment just north of Ashton Road bridge.

37510, 12.10 Wembley HS-Leicester LIP (0VXX, 40E), site of Roade station
I had to run in order to capture 37510 'Orion' working the 12.10 Wembley Yard to Leicester LIP as I suddenly realised that it was passing Milton Keynes - or so I thought! I did not spot that it was being held at Hanslope Junction awaiting its passage from the slow to the fast lines due to the closure of the Northampton route. Control went on to hold the locomotive for an age in fact, to the point, that by the time it passed me at Roade it was running fifteen minutes late! However, it was worth the wait as I have never photographed 37510 in this, its latest guise. If anybody can supply me with the reporting number of this working can you please contact me?
