Wolverton Works seem to be getting a lot of work at the moment with the almost daily movement of trains in and out of the facility. Even on a Saturday in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis there appeared to be five movements in and out of the works. I did not capture every one but recorded two from my home located just a few miles north of Wolverton.

68014, 09.35 Wembley LMD-Crewe Gresty Bridge (0K69, 90E), Victoria bridge
68014 makes its way rapidly along the WCML approaching Roade as the 09.35 Wembley to Crewe Gresty Bridge light engine 0K69 move. I suspect that the Chiltern operated Class 68 was going to Crewe for an examination of some kind. I think that the Chiltern 'Executive' livery (for want of a better term) looks very smart even in the absence of any branding.

323210, 11.05 Soho LMD-Wolverton works (5Z23, 48E), Victoria bridge
The first visitor to Wolverton Works on this busy Saturday was 323210. It is seen on the final part of its journey from Birmingham working the 5Z23 11.05 Soho depot to Wolverton centre sidings. The staff at the works will have been working quickly as they had just released another far more interesting train that was now working north approaching the 323 a little way south from here at Victoria bridge, see..... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/29028475004/x0003-37800-20311-20314-0012-0008

37800, 20311 & 20314, 12.08 Wolverton works-Leicester LIP (5M59, 42L), Victoria bridge
Having towed a Class 442 from Eastleigh early in the morning and having deposited it at Wolverton Works, 37800 'Cassiopeia' gets underway again returning to its base at Leicester. Quite why it is towing 20311 and 20314 I am not sure but if anybody can enlighten me that would be useful! Behind the trio of locomotives are four ancient Mk.1 coaches that were used as barrier vehicles when dragging the Wessex electric earlier. The staff at Wolverton Works had to get a move on in order to release this train as another one was bearing down on it to enter the works and if they were not careful this would foul the down fast, see.... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/29028474804/x323210-11-05-soho-lmd-wolverton In addition to these two trains into Wolverton, another one left later in the afternoon. Looks like that they have plenty of work on!

66711, 17.38 Bescot-Camden Junction (7G52, 19L), Ashton Road bridge
Despite its livery, this is a GBRf locomotive. 66711 'Sence' leads the 17.38 Bescot to Camden Junction infrastructure train past Ashton Road bridge just south of Roade. The sun has got really low in the sky by this time in the evening but, nonetheless, I really like the lighting in this photograph even if it did need a little extra Photoshop treatment!

66727, 17.38 Bescot-Camden Junction (7G52, 19L), Ashton Road bridge
This is a photograph that resulted in cold chips for yours truly! I told my wife that I would only be twenty minutes as I walked out from home, with my ladder, to capture the passage of the 17.38 Bescot to Camden Junction infrastructure working as it approached Northampton. However, in their wisdom control held it and held it again for a procession of diverted Pendolinos and locals to pass at the station. Eventually, it got underway and is seen running thirty minutes late just south of Roade heading south with 66727 'Maritime One' dead at the rear with 66711 'Sence' doing the work at the front. Notice the track machine tucked in at the rear of the consist. Also, notice the spire of Hanslope's St. James the Great church catching the evening sun against a dark sky.
