B30, stabled & B26, Lufthnaven-Vanløse working, Kastrup station
At Kastrup Metro station B26 arrives with a Lufthnaven to Vanløse working. We took this service to Christianshavn. Behind the arriving train is B30 stabled. Note that the Metro train are driverless operating in a similar manner to our own DLR. It is double track throughout and has been a twenty forur hour operation since 2009.

Taken from the rear window of B26, one of Copenhagen Metro's units as it descends and enters the underground part of the network. My wife sone and I were travelling back from Lufthnaven to Christianshavn on an M2 Vanløse working. The Metro trains and stations were all immaculatly clean with a regular and offered good value service.

Rear view, B26, Lufthnaven-Vanløse working, entering tunnel under Strandlodsvej Street
A second rear view taken from Metro vehicle number B26 working a Lufthnaven to Vanløse service on Line two. It is plunging into a tunnel beneath Copenhagen's Strandlodsvej Street. Notice that the line is double-tracked as it is throughout its entire twenty-four-mile route. This is unusual and was a first when it opened in 2002 and makes it relatively straightforward to keep in operation when engineering works are taking place.

Copenhagen Card tickets
Once again, we made excellent use of the Copenhagen Cards to get out from the city centre to Kastrup near the airport for our visit to the aquarium. Once purchased for a set number of hours, in our case one hundred and twenty hours, they can be limitlessly used on DSB, the S-line, the Metro and busses throughout Copenhagen and its wider area with no topping up required; do our large cities need to take note?
