The tour of Manhattan harbour was absolutely bitter, I managed one railway related photograph before darting back inside the boat again!

Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal Station Museum
It was so cold when we tok our harbour tour that it was much as I could do to go out on deck for a minute, take this picture and return to the warmth of the cabin again! This pictures shows the former Central Railroad of New Jersey station terminus. The station was built in 1889 in a Richardsonian Romanesque style but its grand frontage as seen here was obscured from view during most of its working life as there were large ferry terminal building in front of it. The station was an intermodal facility where passengers arriving at one of the twelve platforms then made their way to the ferries to be carried across the Hudson River to Manhattan. The station closed in 1967 and is now a museum being on the National Register of Historic Places and is designated as a New Jersey State Historic Site. I would have liked to have visited it, but our short-stay did not permit enough time.
