M51192 & M56352, 09.45 Sheringham-Holt, Kelling Heath
After a recent restoration, M51192 looks superb in its British Railways green livery with 'speed' whiskers. Attached to the rear is M56352 that remains in its rather faded un-restored livery. The class 101 is widely regarded as one of the most successful and enduring designs of of first generation DMUs. Built by Metro-Cammell in Birmingham between 1956 and 1959 they operated all over the country. When the last examples were withdrawn they were forty seven years old. The unit is seen passing Kelling Heath's footpath crossing with the 09.45 Sheringham to Holt service.

1982, 10.30 Sheringham-Holt, Kelling bank
1982 'Ring Haw' pounds up Kelling bank with the 10.30 Sheringham to Holt, the first steam service of the day on the North Norfolk Railway. The driver is peering down paying close attention to something down below at the front of the loco. With the bracken (Pteridium) on the turn becoming a lovely brown and yellow colour it can only be the middle of autumn.

M51192 & M56352, 15.35 Holt-Sheringham, Weybourne station
With the sun getting low in the afternoon sky, M51192 and M56352 leave Weybourne station with the 15.35 Holt to Sheringham. The four matching Great Northern summersault signals add to the authenticity of the scene along with the water tower and small yard signal cabin.

1982, 16.20 Holt-Sheringham, Weybourne
Having operated all the steam services throughout the day, 1982 'Ring Haw' drifts into Weybourne station with the last service train of the day, the 16.20 Holt to Sheringham. In the foreground is the small allotment and reproduction Anderson shelter that is part of Weybourne station. The narrow pathway between the allotment and the embankment is a great spot for taking pictures.

There are few passengers or visitors on Weybourne station as the last train of the day pauses before heading to Sheringham as the 16.20 from Holt. Once it arrives at tits destination, and after leaving the stock, the leading locomotive, 1982 'Ring Haw', will run back to Weybourne yard for the fire to be dropped and servicing.

6. Up home signal, Weybourne
Walking back to our caravan that is located on Kelling Heath, the path goes along the side of the North Norfolk Railway. Just west of Weybourne station the railway's up home summersault signal that sits on top of a typical slotted concrete post. Notice the route indicators on the post simply telling the driver if the train is routed into platform one of two of Weybourne station.
