My wife, son and I took a few days in the Scottish capital to enjoy what it has to offer including some Fringe events. I was kept happy as we stayed in a hotel right next to Waverley station (what a coincidence!).

Journey there & Waverley-25.08.16 We travelled up by train from Milton Keynes via the WCML on a Virgin service. In the afternoon, I took an hour or so at Waverley.

Two visits to Waverley and a trip to Tweedbank-26.08.16 In between a morning and late afternoon visit to Waverley, I went on the recently opened line to Tweedbank, the Border's Line; a fascinating trip through some lovely countryside.
