47498, unidentified York-London Kings Cross working, Grantham station 47498 leans into the curve at the northern end of Grantham station working an unidentified York to King's Cross service. Simon and I were waiting on the station to catch a train to York, hoping for a Deltic, but were a little disappointed when 47462 came in from King's Cross. Class 46 & class 55, unidentified down working, York station A typically busy scene at York station. A rake of Mk. I stock sits on the present-day platform three. A class 45 waits on one of the centre roads that have now been removed. Most of the action centres around an unidentified Deltic heading north on the presently numbered platform five. There looks to be quite an animated conversation taking place between the driver of the Deltic and a chap (along with some others) wearing some period flared jeans! 55003, unidentified Edinburgh-London-Kings Cross working, York station Under a perfect blue sky, 55003 'Meld' pauses at York station working the 1E11 09.00 Aberdeen to King's Cross that the Deltic took over from Edinburgh. Notice the refurbished first-generation DMUs in the background.
