Having over-indulged during the festive period, I took a walk over the fields to Victoria Bridge. I slung my camera over my shoulder and spent a short while taking a few pictures before taking a brisk walk home.

350116, LN 12.14 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (1Y40, 3E), Victoria Bridge
Still wearing its London Midland livery but now de-branded due to London Northwestern having taken over the franchise a couple of weeks earlier, 350116 passes Victoria Bridge just south of Roade with the 12.14 Birmingham New Street to Euston. One of Roade's water towers can be seen in this image, the other one is hidden behind the trees in the centre of the image.

390155, VT 12.55 London Euston-Manchester Piccadilly (1H26, 5L), Victoria Bridge
With some weak winter brightness just coming through, 390155 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' heads north past Victoria Bridge with the 12.55 Euston to Manchester Piccadilly. This Pendolino was named on 31st March 2014 at Euston to promote the film of the same name, quite why the name has remained on the train I am unsure?

390044, VT 09.40 Glasgow Central-London Euston (1M10, 3L), Victoria Bridge
The 1M10 09.40 Glasgow Central to Euston passes Victoria Bridge on the southern WCML with just 60 of its 400 mile journey to complete. The train is formed by 390044 that is now un-named having previously been 'Virgin Lionheart'.

350125, LM 12.54 London Euston-Northampton (2N55, RT), Victoria Bridge
350125 is close to completing its journey, the 12.54 from Euston to Northampton with the county town being just over five miles north of this spot at Victoria Bridge. This is even closer to my home that is three fields away!

66121, 14.05 Daventry-Dollands Moor (6O67), Victoria Bridge
The only freight of this Saturday afternoon walk was the regular 14.05 Daventry to Dollands Moor empty cargo vans. This 6O67 flow is returning empty to the Kent Yard having brought up thousands of plastic bottles of spring water imported from the continent. This six day per week return trip is one that helps to satisfy the nations insatiable appetite to consume expensive bottled water rather than running a tap!

390138, VT 12.47 Liverpool Lime Street-London Euston (1A35), Roade Hill
As I was walking home for a cup of tea and yet another slice of Christmas cake, I stopped in a gateway on Roade Hill. With the M1 wind-farm in the background, 390138 'City of London' heads south with the 1A35 12.47 from Liverpool Lime Street to Euston. Rather than take a pan shot, I opted for a fast shutter speed in order to 'freeze' the Pendolino, this meant that I had to ramp up the camera's ISO as it was a pretty dull late December afternoon.

350109, LN 13.46 London Euston-Crewe (1U37, RT), Roade Hill
Taken from a gateway on Roade Hill between Roade and Ashton in Northamptonshire, 350109 takes the down fast line with the 13.46 Euston to Crewe. This four-car Desiro EMU just fits in the frame of the camera but the picture could have been taken just a fraction of a second earlier so the front was not partly obscured. However, I don't like cheating and using the camera's rapid fire function preferring to try and judge things better by eye; the proper way!
