After dropping my son off at work and just before England were to play Belgium in the final World Cup group match I had an hour on my hands, so I called in at Victoria Bridge.

350251 & 350234, LM 17.57 Northampton-London Euston ECS (3A11), Victoria Bridge
Having come down from Euston full of commuters 350251 and 350234 return as the 17.57 Northampton to London Euston ECS. About two miles south of Victoria Bridge, where the picture is taken, this unit passed on to the up fast at Hanslope Junction. Here it ran all the way to Euston without a stop to work back again as another late commuter working.

66014 & 90028, 13.58 Dagenham-Mossend (6X77), Victoria Bridge
The daily 13.58 Dagenham to Mossend 'Fords', as it is known, passes Victoria Bridge between Northampton and Milton Keynes, in brilliant summer evening light. This working is double-headed by 66014 and 90028. Close examination of the image reveals that the pantograph on the class 90 is lowered so it was not under-power. It could have failed or it could simply be a logistical locomotive move? Further study also shows my shadow over the bridge of the parapet right down in the left hand corner.
