A broadside view of the 12.06 Birmingham New Street to Euston service as it passes just south of Roade worked by 350239 (leading). This will be one of the units that will be heading back to their owner in the not-too-distant future as West Midlands Trains belatedly introduce the Class 730s to traffic.

Having led another successful Cumbrian Mountain Express charter yesterday (apart from the steam-hauled section south over the Settle and Carlisle route) 86259 'Les Ross/Peter Pan' heads northwards near Roade as the 0Z86 12.00 Acton Reception Sidings to Crewe Carriage Sidings light engine move. Two turbines of the M1 windfarm dominate the skyline against a brilliant blue winter sky generating the same thing that the AL6 is running on!
