After a break over the Christmas and New Year period, movements in and out of Wolverton have begun again. I popped out to see the incoming train and later in the afternoon the balancing return working.

323219, 10.40 Allerton Depot-Wolverton Centre Sidings (5H70, 28E), former A508 bridge
Wearing the livery of its previous operator, West Midlands Trains, after a period of storage at Allerton, 323219 passes Roade heading for its appointment at Wolverton Works. Running early, the 5H70 10.40 Alleton Depot to Wolverton centre Sidings is very close to its destination catching some welcome early afternoon sunshine. I have no recent photographs of this unit but I do have some early ones that I will upload when they are precessed.

807006, 13.43 Liverpool Lime Street-London Euston (1A54, 1E), site of Roade station
A 'going away' shot of 807006 as it passes Roade working the 13.43 Liverpool to Euston service. It is only just over two hours since I took the last photograph but as can be seen, a veil of high cloud has come in and blocked out the brilliant blue sky from earlier.

37510, 14.14 Wembley Yard-Derby RTC (0M57, 24E), site of Roade station
A quick search (using the search tool) of my website reveals that all of my photographs of ROG's 37510 'Orion' are of it running light engine! In another such move, it is seen passing Roade as the 0M57 14.14 Webley Yard to Derby RTC via a reversal at Nuneaton. I do not quite understand why these moves take this route rather than traversing the Marston Vale line to Bedford and then a quick run up the MML to Derby.

323210, 15.33 Wolverton Centre Sidings-Allerton Depot (5N36, 20E), site of Roade station
The driver will have worked the inbound unit from Liverpool a little earlier and is now heading back at the controls of 323210. The unit arrived at Wolverton Works back on the shortest day in December, see.... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/30063847949/x323210-08-41-allerton-depot-wolverton and is now emerging in its smart Northern livery ready for service in the North West. Running as 5N36 the unit left a little early arriving at Allerton Depot twenty minutes ahead of schedule.
