A mid-week charter organised by Compass Tours saw a pair of 37s starting out from Milton Keynes heading for Durham. Before a meeting, I just had time to get to the lineside close to home.

The Compass Tours charter had just left its starting point at Milton Keynes and would head via Manchester and a trip across the Pennines to Leeds and onwards to Durham giving passengers an hour or two to explore the city no doubt looking forward to some more English Electric thrash on the return journey!
