My work in work in Milton Keynes on a very grey and foggy October day coincided with the passage of an interesting working conveying a pair of the long-stored Class 321s from Wembley Yard to Wolverton. I took my morning break to coincide with its passing.

Testing times still for the Class 805 Averos! Having been in service for some months now a number of the sets are still undertaking testing, staff training and, mileage accumulation. On a foggy and damp October morning 805012 passes Milton Keynes, seen from the Loughton Redway bridge, working the 3K72 10.05 Euston to Crewe train that would return later in the early afternoon.

Emerging from the mist as it passes through Milton Keynes Freightliner's 66693 leads the 06.15 Trafford Park to London Gateway service. The 4L97 went on to arrive a little late at its destination despite being on time here in Milton Keynes.

37800, 321301 & 321324, 09.18 Wembley Yard-Wolverton Centre Sidings (5J70, 25L), Loughton Redway bridge, Milton Keynes
After being brought to almost a complete halt just south of Milton Keynes station the drive of 37800 'Cassiopeia' was certainly being a little enthusiastic with the power handle as he got his train underway again! This was a little surprising as the 5J70 09.18 Wembley Yard to Wolverton Centre Sidings only had a couple of miles before reaching its destination! Long-term Wembley Yard residents former Greater Anglia 321301 and 321324 were being taken to Wolverton for possible future use rather than scrapping but I am unsure as to what this use could be.

321324, 321301 & 37800, 09.18 Wembley Yard-Wolverton Centre Sidings (5J70, 25L), Loughton Redway bridge, Milton Keynes
It's a long time since Class 321s worked this section of line and even then it was the 321/4 subset rather than the 321'3s as seen here. De-branded 321324 and 321301 are close to their destination as they pass Milton Keynes being taken to Wolverton Works after a lengthy period of storage in Wembley Yard. Up at the front Rail Operation Group's 37800 'Cassiopeia' were towing the pair of former Greater Anglia 'Dusty Bins'.
