I timed my bike ride on Bertie the Brompton to collect my wife's car from a charging session to coincide with a Northern unit passing close to home heading for attention at Wolverton Works.

350372, 10.05 Coventry-London Euston (1Y20, 2L), Victoria bridge 350372 leads another Desiro passes Victoria bridge just south of Roade working the 10.05 Coventry to Euston service. Due to engineering works between Coventry and Birmingham International, I believe associated with HS2, trains were operating a revised timetable to and from the West Midlands. 390005, VT 05.32 Glasgow Central-London Euston (1M06, 9E), Victoria bridge 390005 'City of Wolverhampton' sweeps around a curve just south of Roade working the 1M06 05.32 Glasgow Central to Euston Avanti West Coast service. Having left Glasgow just over five hours previously the train will now run non-stop to London taking just over half an hour from this point in Northamptonshire. 150111, 08.12 Newton Heath TMD-Wolverton Centre Sidings (5H70, RT), Victoria bridge Unfortunately, just missing out on a bit of sunshine Northern's 150111 approaches journey's end at Victoria Bridge just south of Roade. Running as 5H70 the unit left Newton Heath Depot at 08.12 for a visit to Wolverton Works. Wolverton has been receiving regular visits from units from various TOCs in recent months for various upgrades and repairs. On talking to an employee of the Works it is clear that the main issue with these ageing units is corrosion to the floors particularly under the vestibule areas.
