With the complete closure of the ECML at Peterborough again some freight diversions along the WCML that do not normally come our way were scheduled. Not all ran but I did pop out to see the 4L98.

66705, 06.34 Dollands Moor-DIRFT (6M45, 1L), Hyde Road bridge
66705 'Golden Jubilee' passes through Roade taken from Hyde Road bridge on a particularly miserable damp day. The GBRf locomotive, which once wore a pair of huge fluttering union jacks on its flanks, is leading the bottled water train that runs as 6M45, the 06.34 Dollands Moor to Daventry.

66716, 07.43 Masborough-London Gateway (4L98, 13L), Hyde Road bridge
4L98 is not a reporting number seen very often passing through Roade cutting! Due to a second complete closure of the ECML at Peterborough some freight services were diverted away from their normal routes. GBRf's 66716 'Locomotive & Carriage Institution 1911-2011' is seen leading the 07.43 Masborough to London Gateway from Hyde Road bridge.
