I popped out from home having an extra weather-related day off work to capture the passage of one of EMR's Desiros making its regular trip from Kettering to Northampton for examination purposes. I was not prepared for what I observed hauling the train!

69010 & 360119, 12.57 Kettering Stabling Sidings-Northampton EMD (5Z61, 1E), site of Roade station I was not quite prepared for what was leading the 12.57 Kettering Stabling Sidings to Northampton (Siemens) EMD stock move! I am more used to seeing a Class 47 haul this regular working so when 69010 (formally 56060) appeared I was pleasantly surprised. 360119 was being taken to Northampton for an examination before returning back to its more usual MML haunts in a few days time. Notice the Sikorsky S-76C-2, call sign G-ROON, heading southwestwards above the scene. It had taken off from Pannal Golf Club (near Harrogate) earlier in the morning taking a somewhat circuitous route heading to an unidentified location. 66709, 10.36 Felixstowe North-Trafford Park (4M22, 12E), site of Roade station In deteriorating light and wearing its one-off Medite Shipping Company (MSC) livery 66709 'Sorrento' passes Roade leading the fully loaded 4M22 10.36 Felixstowe to Trafford Park GBRf operated Freightliner service. It is unclear from this angle but the graphic on the flank of the 66 is a side-on view of a fully loaded contained ship, a livery that the locomotive has worn since 2012.
