What a different day to yesterday with the brilliant bright sky having given way to overcast and misty weather. It still did not prevent me from going out for a walk with my camera over my shoulder as there was a returning engineers' train due to pass.

66106 & 66142, 11.50 North Wembley Junction-Bescot (6R01, 18L), site of Roade station
66106 emerges from the mist leading the 6R01 11.50 North Wembley to Bescot engineering train composed of a short rake of HQAE 88 tonne auto discharge bogie ballast wagons. The train is seen passing the site of Roade's former station with 66142 'Maritime Intermodal THREE' at the rear. Notice the crudely applied Network Rail vinyls on the side of the wagons half covering their original Railtrack branding.

66148 'Maritime Intermodal THREE' brings up the rear of the 11.50 North Wembley to Bescot engineering train past the site of Roade station. 66106 is out of sight at the front having passed under the village's former A508 road bridge. Time to head home for a cup of tea!
