One of those early winter afternoons without a cloud in the sky and a chill in the air encouraged me out for an afternoon walk. I timed it with the northbound passage of the Saturday only 0K69 light engine movement from Wembly (LMD - Chiltern's Depot facility) to Crewe.

66798, 08.08 Dollands Moor-DIRFT (6M45, 1E), Victoria bridge I superb afternoon lighting 66798 'Justine Langton' passes Victoria bridge just south of Rode leading the daily 'water train' officially the 6M45 08.08 Dollands Moor to Daventry train. 390005, 08.38 Glasgow Central-London Euston (1M09, 10L), Victoria bridge Unfortunately, the low winter afternoon sunshine has plunged the fast lines that pass through a low cutting between Roade and Ashton on the southern WCML into shadow. The wide tonal range of modern digital cameras has enabled a passing photograph of 390005 'City of Wolverhampton' working the 08.38 Glasgow Central to Euston to be presented. 3. 68020 & 68008, 09.28 Wembley LMD-Gresty Bridge (0K69, 3L), Victoria bridge Just catching some winter afternoon sunshine 68020 'Reliance' pilots 68008 'Avenger' returning north as the 0K69 09.28 Wembley LMD to Crewe Gresty Bridge. Having been handed back to DRS by Transpennine as they wind down their use of NOVA 3 trains 69020 still retains its TPE livery and surprisingly its branding. 69008 is in the more normal DRS house livery. The locomotives are returning to Gresty Bridge for servicing and an exam. following use with Chiltern on their locomotive hauled services.
