Following attending the village's remembrance event, I took a short walk to coincide with the passage of a track machine I had spotted on RTT. I also explored the possible photographic potential of the new A508 Roade bypass bridge that crosses the cutting.

DR79231, 08.50 Ryecroft Junction-Bletchley CE Sidings (6Z08, 25E), A508 bridge I am aware that track machines, in all their various guises, are designed to fulfil a purpose but the track grinding machines really are the oddest and uggliest design of all! Loram's DR79231 'Pete Erwin' lead set C21-01 through Roade cutting about to pass under the A508 bridge as the 6Z08 08.50 Ryecroft Junction to Bletchley CE Sidings move. 390045, VT 10.01 Preston-London Euston (1A17, 4E), Roade bypass bridge Taken from beneath the new A508 Roade bypass bridge that spans Roade cutting 390045 'Birmingham Pride' heads south working the 10.01 Preston to Euston Avanti service. Notice the movement sensors to the right of the image that are linked to a device that will inform some computer somewhere or other of changes to the profile of the embankment. 390137, VT. 10.37 Manchester Piccadilly-London Euston (1A19,RT), Roade bypass bridge An extremely wide-angled view of Roade cutting with the new and particularly ugly-looking bridge that carries Roade's new bypass. The comparison with the elegant Victorian brick structure that is my usual haunt is dramatic! 390137 is seen passing away from the camera working the 10.37 Manchester to Euston 1A19 service. Further photographs from this location will soon not be possible as contractors were in the process of fencing off the area beneath the bridge.
