Having not seen Andy for a few weeks we arranged a meet at Wolverton for a catch-up. After some lunch, we went to Wolverton station with the morning's rain having passed away to the east. For an hour or so we photographed some freights before the light defeated us. Andy was also delighted that his final Class 350 appeared for which he needed the side numbers so that's 350246 ticked off for the set!

66565, 13.21 Willesden Up & Down Relief-Tunstead Sidings (6H50, 3E), Wolverton station
The characteristic rust stain down the front end emanating from beneath the windscreen seal, a common affliction of the Class 66s, 665645 speeds through Wolverton station leading the 6H50 13.21 Willesden to Tunstead empty stone wagons train. This, and the balancing loaded working are in association with HS2 and its work in West London.

350108, LN 13.06 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (1Y42, RT), Wolverton station
After some awful west weather in the morning, that forced me to cancel my day's work and move it to a day with a better forecast, by late afternoon the clouds had cleared and the sun was making a half-hearted appearance! 350108 leads a classmate into Wolverton with the 13.06 Birmingham New Street to London Euston London Northwestern service.

66539, 12.16 Lawley Street-London Gateway (4L46, 2E), Wolverton station
With a toot from the driver, 66539 leads the well-loaded 12.16 Laweley Street to London Gateway daily Freightliner through Wolverton station. The troublesome lilac and ash sapling both now established on the down-slow platform ramp at Wolveron are going to make this shot very tricky soon unless they are removed.

66746, 10.36 Felixstowe North-Trafford Park (4M22, 2L), Wolverton station
How the mighty have fallen! Usually, kept immaculate for its special Royal Scotsman duties GBRf's 66746 looks in a terrible state hauling the 4M22 10.36 Felixstowe to Trafford Park service. In this condition, it can only have been operating an RHTT service along with another equally dirty Class 66 no doubt. I am surprised that the locomotive was passed fit for service with its high-intensity yellow front completely lost beneath a layer of filth with just the area around the number and the headlights wiped clear prior to departure.

66424, 13.47 DIRFT-Tilbury (4L48, 29L), Wolverton station
The daily 4L48 'Tesco Express' passes through Wolverton station with 66424 'Driver Paul Scrivens 1969-2021' leading. I captured this locomotive at DRS's Crewe open day on the day of its naming on a hot day in July 2021, see....https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/30029939666/nameplate-66424-display-crewe-gresty

66554, 09.32 Felixstowe North-Ditton (4M88, 29L), Wolverton station
By 15.30 with the light beginning to drop there was just time to wait at Wolverton to photograph two final freights before heading for home. 66554 passes at speed with the 09.32 Felixstowe to Ditton Freightliner service.

66701, 12.18 London Gateway-Hams Hall (4M47, 20L), Wolverton station
GBRf's 66701 passes through Wolverton station with the 12.18 London Gateway to Hams Hall 4M07 service. Now twenty-two years old 66701 has carried two names in its life, for nearly four years it was 'Railtrack National Logistics' and then for seven years it was 'Whitemoor'. After this train had passed, Andy and I walked back to our respective cars and went on our separate ways, Andy to work and me home!
