I happened to be working in Milton Keynes on this particular day and very closer to the railway! On the way to work, I stopped briefly at Wolverton to see an interesting unit move and later took a walk to the railway near the station to capture an LSL ECS run; sometimes things just turn out fine!

350261, LN 07.56 London Euston-Birmingham New Street (1Y17, RT), Wolverton station 350261 arrives at Wolverton station in some welcome sunshine working the 07.56 Euston to Birmingham New Street. The photograph clearly reveals the sharp camber of the track as it passes through the station that applies to both the fast and slow lines. 323207, 08.34 Bletchley TMD-Soho TMD (5Q66, 6L), Wolverton station I am not sure why 323207 was passing through Wolverton station as the 5Q66 08.34 Bletchley TMD to Soho TMD. Usually, these types of moves follow originate from Wolverton Works following attention so perhaps this one left earlier and was simply stabled at Bletchley. If this did happen I could find no record of this short move over the previous day or so. Either way, it makes a pleasant change to see a unit in a different livery than we are used to in this area. 390020, VT 10.55 Manchester Piccadilly-London Euston (1A29, 6L), Loughton Redway bridge, Milton Keynes The railway through Milton Keynes is not renowned for its photographic opportunities with few spots available with most requiring the use of a step ladder. As I was working very close to this location, the Redway bridge that spans both the railway and the parallel running A5 in the Loughton area of the city, I thought I'd try my luck. Whilst the foreground is relatively open a full train's length does not quite fit in the gap up to the A509 overbridge. 390020 heads south working Avanti's 10.55 Manchester to Euston service. D1935, 09.21 Crewe HS-Southall LSL (5Z80, RT), Loughton Redway bridge With Crewe-based LSL either operating so many charters or providing the stock for others they are operating ECS trains all over the country. One such train is seen passing through Milton Keynes from the Redway bridge with D1935 'Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013’ leading. Unfortunately, this spot, close to where I was working, did not enable InterCity liveried 47828 to be seen on the rear of the 5Z80 09.21 Crewe HS to Southall LSL empty stock move.
