As Andy and I opted yesterday to go east to see the 'West Highland Pullman' charter I missed the regular Class 86 hauled 'Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express' near to home. However, to partially make up for this I did get out to see the associated light engine move from Euston back to Rugby.

390152 passes a newly opened up scene at Victoria bridge just south of Roade working the 1H19 12.08 Euston to Manchester Piccadilly in some welcome if a little weak, spring sunshine. Notice that some wag has removed the letter V of the nose vinyl thus creating a new TOC named A ANTI!

86259, 11.58 London Euston-Rugby CS (0Z89, 63E), Victoria bridge
With some extensive tree and vegetation clearance at Victoria bridge between Roade and Ashton I have been able to exploit some new photographic positions. 86259 ‘Les Ross/Peter Pan’ is seen nicely positioned between some electrification masts heading north with the 0Z89 11.58 Euston to Rugby light engine move. The Class 86 lives in the carriage sidings just north of the station in between railtour duties.
