A lineup of Virgin Pendolinos is seen at Euston station. Over on the far side of the station are a couple of unidentified Class 390s. Meanwhile, nearest the camera is 390156, the first eleven car Pendolino to be released into traffic just over two years ago. My wife and I took this as the 13.17 Euston to Manchester the relatively short distance to Milton Keynes. Tucked in behind the nearest Pendolino is 390128 'City of Preston' that has recently terminated as the 10.38 ex Liverpool Lime Street.

39154 'Matthew Flinders' was named a few months ago here at Euston station by a member of the Royal Family. It is seen catching some early autumn sunshine having recently arrived with the 11.07 from Wolverhampton.

90020 & 90019, stabled, Wembley Yard
With the Wembley Arch standing out against a sunlit but grey sky two consecutively numbered Class 90s are seen in the yard. To the right, 90019 wears its ScotRail livery whilst to the left 90020 is seen in its more common EWS paint scheme.

66083, 90034 & Class 90, stabled, Wembley Yard
A further three locomotives are seen stabled in Wembley Yard. 66083 is still wearing its EWS livery whilst 90034 is seen in the centre in its EWS livery. To the extreme right is another Class 90 unfortunately unidentified. It is one First Group's ScotRail locomotives dedicated to woking the sleeper services.

66001, stabled, Wembley Yard
Pioneer Class 66 66001 looks smart in its DB Schenker cherry red livery despite being sixteen years old but this paint scheme was only applied last year. It is seen resting in Wembley Yard between duties on a Sunday afternoon.

Tickets, London Euston-Milton Keynes
Our return leg tickets show that the journey cost us just £13 for both journeys there and back. Pretty good value considering the journey was with Virgin Trains that took just about thirty minutes between Milton Keynes and London.
