66420, 08.25 Crewe Basford Hall-Felixstowe North (4L93, 15E), Ashton Roade bridge Unless they are electric hauled up Freight services usually take some time reach this location at Roade from when they leave Northampton affording plenty of time to get set up and set the camera. Either 66420 was in fine fettle or the driver wanted to get to Wembley for his lunch (or both!) but this one made it in record time surprising me by appearing around the corner in the distance with the 4L93 08.25 Crewe Basford Hall to Felixstowe with me still playing on my 'phone! 323233, 08.33 Allerton Depot-Wolverton Centre Sidings (2E), Ashton Road bridge The movement of Northern's fleet of ageing Class 323s (dating from 1994) is a regular occurrence with most exchanges (one in the depot and another returning) taking place on a Saturday. 323233 is seen close to the end of its journey at Roade some five miles north of its destination as the 08.33 Allerton to Wolverton.
