Even when nipping out to photograph my wife’s car in preparation for its sale I could not resist a couple of railway photographs at nearby Victoria bridge! The photographs must have done their job as her Audi A3 sold to the first viewer from Yorkshire who traveled all the way down to collect it after having it professionally inspected.

66414, 11.13 Felixstowe North-Trafford Park (4M87), Victoria bridge
Now looking a little strange in its de-branded and defunct Stobart livery 66414 works the 11.13 Felixstowe to Trafford Park 4M87 Freightliner service. The train is seen passing Victoria bridge just south of Roade in Northamptonshire in full shade despite the clear blue sky in the background!

66572, 12.30 Crewe Basford Hall-Felixstowe North (4L90), Victoria bridge
Just a few minutes after the previous photograph of 66414 was taken 66572 heads south with the 12.30 Crewe Basford Hall to Felixstowe Freightliner train. Creating a lot of exhaust the locomotive is picking up speed after the long and steady climb from Northampton as it passes Victoria bridge near Roade. As well as being in dubious mechanical condition it appears to be in need of a visit to the paint shop with a huge scab of rust evident between the windscreens!
