Andy popped over early so we went out to see the passage of another Cumbrian Coast Express hauled by 86259. Unfortunately, the weather did not play ball being a particularly dull June morning.

390155, VT 06.10 Manchester Piccadilly-London Euston (1M64), Milton crossing
The livery seen here applied to 390155 was revealed some three months ago on 31.03.14 at Euston station. It was unveiled as part of the promotion of the forthcoming film X Men: Days of Future Past by two of the film's stars, Hugh Jackman and James McAvoy. Not a film I have seen but to be fair, it's not really my sort of thing! The Pendolino is seen passing Milton crossing near Blisworth working the 06.10 Manchester to Euston service.

390039, VT 07.20 London Euston-Manchester Piccadilly (1H09), Milton crossing
On a particularly grey, dull and chilly June morning 390039 speeds north past Milton crossing just north of Roade cutting that commences in the trees above the rear of the train. The Pendolino is working the 07.20 Euston to Manchester 1H09 Virgin Trains West Coast service that left the capital some thirty-five minutes previously.

86259, outward leg of The Cumbrian Coast Express, 07.10 London Euston-Carlisle (1Z86), Milton crossing
Running bang on time running on a tight path between northbound Pendolinos, 86259 'LesRoss/Peter Pan' leads the outbound Cumbrian Coast Express past Milton crossing between Roade and Blisworth. Running as 1Z86 the AL6 left Euston at 07.10 heading for Carnforth where, on this occasion, LMS 8F 48151 took the train forward to Carlisle and then after a reversal around the superb Cumbrian coast line.
