A beautiful spring evening encouraged me to get out after dinner to capture the passing of the returning Northern belle private charter from London to Manchester.

92032, 15.49 Garston-Dagenham (6L48), Milton Malsor SP740553
I think that the GBRf livery applied to just four Class 92s suits the class. Passing Milton Malsor, located due south of Northampton, 92032 'MechE Railway Division' leads the 15.49 Garston to Dagenham empty double-decker car wagons running as 6L68.

47828, return leg of The Northern Belle, 18.37 Kensington Olympia-Manchester Victoria (1Z59), Milton Malsor SP740553
In pretty picture-perfect evening sunshine, the return Northern Belle private charter returns north as the 1Z59 18.37 Kensington Olympia to Manchester Victoria. The train is led by a smart-looking 47828 that, despite being coming up for fifty years old (just the same as myself!), is still earning its keep on the national network!

47832, return leg of The Northern Belle 18.37 Kensington Olympia-Manchester Victoria (1Z59), Milton Malsor SP740553
A bit of 'grab shot' at Milton Malsor near Northampton shows Northern Belle liveried 47832 'Solway Princess'. The veteran Class 47, that entered service almost exactly fifty years ago in the summer of 1964 as D1610, is seen at the rear of the returning Northern Belle charter from London (Kensington Olympia) to Manchester running as 1Z59.
