Another GA unit being dragged back from Kilmarnock to Ilford was nearly missed as when I checked its progress mid-afternoon I found it was running ninety-nine minutes early and approaching Rugby! I grabbed the camera and drove to Gordon's Lodge only then to find the location totally overgrown with nettles at shoulder height. Not to be defeated, I plunged through them Dr. Livingstone style but receiving some collateral damage in the process!

66013, 14.47 DIRFT-Dollands Moor (6M45, 5L) & 350239, LN 14.46 London Euston-Crewe (1U39, 1L), Gordon's Lodge
Bowled by a Desiro! 350239 forming the 14.46 Euston to Crewe passes me at Gordon's Lodge on the down fast line spoiling my opportunity to capture a decent photograph of the 6M45. The 14.47 Daventry to Dollands Moor empty bottled water train is being led by EWS liveried 66013. The two trains are passing at Gordon's Lodge just a short distance north of Hanslope Junction.

2. 390128, VT 13.55 Manchester Piccadilly-London Euston (1A41, RT), Gordon's Lodge
Having been so used to the Pendolinos being in Virgin red from their introduction some eighteen years ago, seeing them in the Avanti livery has taken a little getting used to. However, I am warming to their paint scheme and I am pleased that the vast majority of the bodysides are remaining in the transitional white. 390128 passes Gordon's Lodge just north of Hanslope Junction with the 13.55 Manchester Piccadilly to Euston service.

66779, 12.05 London Gateway-Hams Hall (4M46, 10L), Gordon's Lodge
I saw 66779 'Evening Star' a couple of weeks ago at Victoria bridge and commented on its filthy front end. Knowing that GBRf take care to ensure that their locomotives are presented well I would have thought that they may have given it a clean since then? It is seen here at Gordon's Lodge just north of Hanslope Junction leading the 4M46 12.05 London Gateway to Hams Hall Freigtliner.

37884 & 317886, 09.00 Kilmarnock Bonnyton-Ilford EMUD (5Q50, 173E), Gordon's Lodge
Yet another of Greater Anglia's Class 317s returns from Scotland having received attention at Brodie Engineering's Kilmarnock facility. 37884 'Cepheus' leads 317886 past Gordon's Lodge between Northampton and Milton Keynes running ninety-nine minutes early; something that very nearly caught me out! Unfortunately, I have had to do some heavy Photoshop work to this image as, unbeknown to me, a huge droplet of water or sap or some such substance had deposited itself on the left-hand side of the lens just as the train was approaching. This was probably from the absolute sea of nettles that I was standing in! I saw the same unit heading north just over a month ago hauled by 37800 'Cassiopeia', see...... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/29225554804/x37800-317886-11-59-ilford-emud-killmarnock
