Another former GA Desiro unit was being moved from Ilford to Northampton for storage in preparation for further use on the MML when the electrification is completed. The unit was being moved by a pair of GBRf Class 47s that were seen yesterday passing Roade.

In a welcome burst of sunshine 47749 'City of Truro' leads the 5Q36 Ilford to Northampton unit drag move through Roade cutting. Former Greater Anglia 360107 is being taken from its former Essex base to Northampton for temporary storage and modification work at the Siemens' depot prior to its use on the MML working Corby to St. Pancras trains. At the rear of the train is 47739.

A combo of blueness passes through Roade cutting almost reminiscent of BR's corporate image days if not for the slight variance in the shading. Out of sight, on the front, 47749 'City of Truro' leads 360107 with 47739 coming along for the ride at the rear. The train was passing slowly through Roade cutting as the 5Q36 12.15 Ilford to Northampton conveying the former GA Desiro for temporary storage and one hundred and ten miles an hour modification at the Siemens' depot at Kingsheath. The unit will eventually be repainted and branded as EMR for use on the Corby to St. Pancras services whenever the newly electrified route is energised, tested and cleared for use.
