Two walks out from home within an hour of each other. The first, in humid but overcast conditions, contrasts markedly with strong late afternoon sunshine but a threatening sky a short time later. I love the British weather!

86637 & 86614, 11.13 Felixstowe North-Trafford Park (4M87, 1L), site of Roade-station
With the bright and strong sunshine from earlier in the day now shrouded by cloud, it felt as though a storm was brewing. In clammy conditions 86637 and 86614 are seen passing Roade leading the 4M87 11.13 Felixstowe to Trafford Park Freightliner. This pair of AL6 electrics were seen two days previously dead-in-tow on the 4A96, see...... https://www.ontheupfast.com/p/21936chg/29189145804/x86628-86639-86614-86637-12-30-crewe

37611 & 82107, 10.44 MNR-Leicester LIP (5Q59, 22E), site of Roade station
I had been tracking this movement all day since it left the Mid Norfolk Railway observing various postings to identify exactly what it was. After a slow journey from Norfolk, 37611 'Pegasus' leads former Greater Anglia DVT 82107 past Roade heading towards the Class 37's Leicester base. I am not sure as to why the formerly stored DVT was making the journey. If anybody can advise that would be useful. Whilst I am not complaining, I do not understand why the train took the long route to Leicester that involved the engine changing ends at Nuneaton rather than taking a far more direct route via Peterborough and Stamford? Notice the Rail Operations Group headboard being worn by 37611.

66529, 12.57 London Gateway-Garston (4M57, 13E), site of Roade station
Only an hour after the last photograph was taken and conditions have picked up no end! However, that menacing black sky in the background looks rather threatening but adds some drama to an otherwise rather humdrum photograph. 66529 passes Roade leading the 12.57 London Gateway to Garston 4M57 Freightliner.

390042, VT 17.30 London Euston-Glasgow Central (1S90, 1L), site of Roade station
On the day that the wearing of face protection became mandatory on public transport, Avanti West Coast's 390042 enters into the spirit sporting its own mask and bearing the message 'Safe Travels (sic). Wear a face covering'. The Pendolino is seen passing Roade working the 17.30 Euston to Glasgow Central 1S90 under a very threatening sky. This Pendolino is one of two that have been adorned with the vinyls and the message - the other one being 390122 'Penny the Pendolino'.

66105, 17.21 Wembley yard-Arpley (0Z42, 32E), site of Roade station
This is my first photograph of 66105 since its repainting into DB red. Under a threatening and stormy black sky that did indeed deliver some rain in the next hour or so, it passes the site of Roade's former station as the 17.21 Wembley to Arpley (Warrington) light engine move.
