Yet another day trip to London with my wife. This time it was more for her than me with us having tickets for Gypsey at the Savoy Theatre on the Strand. Musicals are not my cup of tea but as the incredible Imelda Staunton, was the lead role it was worth seeing.

Redevelopment of old Northampton station
Progress to finishing off the rebuilding of Northampton station seems to have slowed to a snail's pace! Despite all the plant in this photograph giving the impression of frenetic work, there are no workers to be seen! The turning circle and drop-off point seem to have been in this state for some weeks now, let's hope it can be finished off as soon as possible to give Northampton the station and facilities that it deserves.

The new turning circle at the rear of Northampton's new station looks more like the Marie Celeste with not one worker actually present and doing anything to finish off the much-delayed rebuild of the strcuture.

The previous two photographs show lots of plant and equipment associated with the rebuilding of the rear of Northampton's new station but no workers. Here is one on a cherry picker undertaking a task. The two archways shown in this view covered the interior of the old station the one to the left was the concourse and the one to the right was the ticket office and staff area.

350373, 09.33 Birmingham New Street-London Euston (1W08), Northampton station
Our train south from Northampton to Euston waits at the latter's platform one. 372373 will soon be joined by another unit working the 09.33 Birmingham to Euston to work forward as a two-set service.

390155, VT 19.23 London Euston-Wolverhampton (9G41), London Euston station
On returning to Euston station after our superb day out in London 390155 sits at platform four ready to work north with the 19.23 to Wolverhampton. As can be seen from the nose of the Pendolino, after a lovely start to the day it is now raining.

350126, LM 19.49 London Euston-Birmingham New Street (1Y79), London Euston station
Our train home from Northampton is going to be crowded this evening! Hopefull my wife had 'bagged' a seat for me whilst I take this photograph of 350126 waiting at platform seven. Normally the 19.49 to Birmingham New Street is a two-set service with eight carriages but today it is half this. Even when working as planned it is full and standing as far as Watford Junction but tonight some people will not be permitted to travel!

390138, VT 19.43 London Euston-Preston (9P42), London Euston station
One of the named Pendolinos, 390138 'City of London' will leave Euston a few minutes before our train home will do so with the 9P42 19.43 to Preston. Another example of a Class 390 running about with its coupling cover door in its retracted position, not that this will have much of an effect on its aerodynamics when at the rear of the train as in this particular case.
